Egyptian Astrology

Post by scorpio »

The Ancient Egyptians gave us a breakdown of time into 24 hours of solar time, the concept of hours and the break-up of time into night/day, month, year. Dendera shows an astrological ceiling as does the tomb of Seti I of the New Kingdom's 19th Dynasty. We know that Ptolemy gave us the foundation of western astrology, but he was much later in the Classical/Roman period. Is there any way we can reconcile Ptolemy's astrology with Seti I's and Dendara"s so much more ancient charts? Has anybody got any ideas as to what constellations the most ancient depictions of charts relate to?
