If you are still around, it's not just the houses that are to be considered in analyzing Second Marriage / Spouse. Some high level rules (and these are not all of them) can be as follows:

The first marriage has to break in order for the second marriage to frucitfy. So, look at 7th House, it's House Lord and afflictions to it. Consider the natural Malefics placed in the Kendras from them. Also, Rahu and Ketu in 1-7 axis is another factor adding to the equation. One cannot ignore the afflictions to Venus, the natural Kaarak for marriage. Similar principles can be applied to Navaamsha with respect to the marriage significator from the Raashi Kunndali. Then, based on Mahadashaa and Transit if any event such as death of Spouse, Divorce etc are indicated then again consider 7th House and its Lord for next marriage but with next probable set of Mahadashaa and Transits. This is one school of thought.

In Jaimini Jyotish, one has to consider the Upapada Lagna and Kaarak related to Marriage (Daraa Kaarak) for the second marriage. There are myriad of principles around it.

In KP astrology, one considers the 9th House for second marriage and spouse.

In Nadi Jyotish, it's the order of Grah and inter-relationship between Guru, the Jeeva Kaarak and Shukra, the Kaarak for Stree that is considered for first and all subsequent marriages.

In all schools of Jyotish, Shaani, Rahu, Ketu and Sun is considered as separative Grah detrimental for marriage.

In KP astrology, one considers the 9th House for second marriage and spouse.
Would like to add the very important point.
As per KSK in KP reader 4, pg 84 it is mentioned that if the sublord of 7th cusp is either Mercury or any planet occupying dual sign, more than one wife... ( wife in this context means any person) as this books were written in an era where most women did not had multiple marriage....

To simplify further... here are the KP rules for 2nd or more than one marriage...
1. 7th cusp sublord-
(A) If it is deposited in dual sign (Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces) or
(B) In a star of a planet in or owning a dual sign or
(C) If 7th cusp sub lord is Mercury
(D) If the7th cusp sublord is also significator of houses 2 or 11,

2. If 2nd cusp sub lord is connected to house 7th cusp, second marriage is promised.

(Note : Above 2 conditions are essential for 2nd marriage and both conditions must be fulfilled simultaneously

3. If 9th cusp sub lord signifies 2, 9, 11 houses, second marriage will take place. (As per Sri Kanak Bosmia ji)

4. Dasha/Bukti/Antara must be of 2,9,11,7

Best practices.... as a thumb rule I follow condition 1 and 2... if condition 3 is also met it gives more assurance... however there is no hard and fast rule for the 3rd condition... it depends on astrologer's experience...

I am in full agreement, Kiran ji. Mercury is multiplicity and at times Rahu also expands the significations when in relevant associations. Dual Raashis when in direct association with 7th CSL further gives assurance to multiple partners/relationships. And 9th house is 3rd from the 7th thereby extending the Kaarakatwa of 7th significations.

2nd and 11th are anyway supporting houses for marriage (first or subsequent) along side 7th. 5th and 12th houses also have shown their presence in some cases in my collection in the Dashaa/Antara cycles.

Haven't come across Kanak ji's expositions yet but always good to know other scholar's views.
