Re: Vedic astrology teaching
You may look up Wikipedia.com
Also check the degree qualifications offered in Indian Universities
for which type of astrology without getting confused.
Look for the main tree of Indian Astrology first; after which you can
choose and study the different branches and see which works best for
you after getting the foundations of Indian Astrology.
The ancient name of Indian Astrology is now known as Vedic Astrology
as I understand.

Re: Vedic astrology teaching
Take ARIES ascendant and place the planets in their mooltricon houses. The planets develop or have permanent natural relationship with lord of other houses as described in BPHS Page 37 Topic 55. [volume 1 by Girish Chand Sharma]
This gives us distribution of bindus[ benefic points] by planets relative to the ascendant.......This is a permanent friendship relationship.
This forms the core basic of the ASTAKAVARGA system....and explains well the theory behind the upachaya houses.

THe MAHADASA will control the events related to 6th house from its house/itself
The antardasa will execute the event.
The transit of Sun in a particular house and nakshatra will pin point the dateof an event.
