Lilith's Chart and a proffered game

Post by Lilith78 » Sun Jun 04, 2017 2:59 am

Hello Everyone,

I wish to propose a game for this post. Please let me know if you are okay with this proposal. I am what many would call a novice astrologer and wish to learn about this logos. Before, I make the proposal, I wish to let you know why I wish to make it in the first place. I strongly believe in this philosophy, "Give a man a fish, and he eats for one day. Teach a man how to fish, and he eats for life." Granted if the man is starving, then it is in your best interest to give the man a fish. In my case, I am fairly positive, I am quite well fed. So rather than just tell me everything my chart says about me, instead grant me your wisdom on how to interpret my chart.

For example, I know my Sun Sign is Pisces. So if you were telling me about this sign, you would not simply hand me a fish. Sorry, that pun was actually unintentional. Instead you would ask me questions. The first one may be about mutable signs. Then you may ask me about water signs. Finally, you may ask me about feminine signs. Along the way if I said something flat out wrong, like "Pisces is a very stoic sign." which is wrong, because Pisces is typically one of the most emotional signs. You would call me on it. However, I have found out through experience and astrology, that I have the mark of a genius. So, it is possible you may learn something from me, because of my original and innovative point of view. (This statement while it sounds like bragging, was said, because all too many people discount my views when my views are truly original, and this puts me in a very awkward position.)

So, the rules of my proposal are to read what I have to say. Then ask questions, which lead me to a better understanding of my chart. Finally, make sure that what I say (especially if my inner genius is speaking) is actually quite valid after some thought. Lastly, you may want to turn this into a game of hot and cold.

Does this work for you guys?

Something I have been thinking about for a little while now is rather complex. Hopefully this lengthy statement makes sense to everyone that reads it. There are moments in time when I make a rather bold statement. Then people argue with me about the validity of the statement. If I sincerely believe that the statement is true and that while I cannot prove it to them, I am unable to prove it to myself either. Despite being unable to prove it one way or another, when they argue against it, my belief in the validity of the statement increases with each and every argument they have to say about it. Hopefully someone here can relate to what I just had to say.

To say what I just said in terms of a metaphor. Suppose the bold statement is a sword. When others attack the sword, two things occur. The first is that the sword becomes sharper. Secondly, it becomes harder and harder to dull the sword. If enough attacks are made to the sword, then the sword becomes indestructible.

My question to you is somewhat simple. I believe what I just said has all of or some of its roots in my having Gemini Rising. The main reason I believe this to be true is something I read, "There is a tendency to be egotistical, for fundamentally you know that you know better than others." I have enough humility and obliviousness to say that my Gemini Rising may have nothing to do with the first paragraph. So given my birth chart, what aspect of this chart explains the statement?

Lilith, can you attach your chart for us please? That should help us understand what we're discussing.

Hopefully this proves useful. I will admit though it is somewhat frustrating that this chart does not have the aspects included. Despite this frustration, I am quite glad I was able to upload this attachment. Especially given the fact that by posting it, I don't have to write well over 1,000 words.

well done you did it.

OK, I'm going to play the game too, what points in your chart point to your Gemini status?

There are two points in my chart that point to Gemini. The first is my Rising Sign. The other one is my Jupiter in Gemini. Rather than merely answer your question, I am going to give you a lot of context surroundings those points. The first piece of context is by knowing the Rising Sign, one also knows the ruler of the entire birthchart. So my first question the fact that "one point" is my rising sign, and in math a point has no dimension, is my Rising Sign really one point. This sounds a lot like asking if a circle is a point. Oddly enough in Physics, and I hope I am not overwhelming you with my misuse of analogies, Physicists are somewhat lazy. When calculating the motion of even the largest of the bodies (like say a Sun, Moon, or Planet) the Physicist represents the entire body as a singular point. they treat this point in many cases as the entire body with the same mass as the entire body. I am giving both analogies as counter-balances (or extremes) to illustrate it is logical for you to pick either one or both when telling me how to treat the Rising Sign.

Something else I was reading is that as a result of Gemini being a major player in my chart, and Mercury being the ruler of my chart, Jupiter is actually a major player in my chart as well. Jupiter is the heavenly body that rules the opposite sign of Gemini. Broken down into parts Gemini is my Rising Sign. Sagittarius is my Descending Sign. Jupiter rules Sagittarius. According to at least one book I own, the ruler over the Descending Sign represents how I relate to others. There are multiple ways of calculating the houses. My favorite way is to take the Rising Sign. Then subtract the degrees of the Rising Sign from each other sign. If you do this, it is as if your (or my) chart has the Rising sign at the very beginning of the first house. This way calculating what sign and what planet is in what house in your chart. Subtraction is a very easy calculation to make. The only possible error is that you forget to subtract its degree from each other sign. If you do things this way, then my descending sign, Sagittarius, would range from 180 degrees to 210 degrees. This range is the same range as the Seventh House's range. This house according to The Only Astrology Book You Will Ever Need "This is the House of Partnership and Marriage. On a personal level, it relates to yoru husband or wife, trhe mate you choose in life. It often indicates what kind of marriage you will have and whether you might divorce or remarry. This is your House of Partnerships, not on in marriage, but also in work, business, legal affairs, and sometimes in politics. It covers legal unions or contracts you enter into, and both sides of a question or dispute. The Seventh House concerns your ability to work harmoniously with others. Paradoxically, it also governs what astrologers call your open enemies, those who are usually your adversaries in the business or professional world. The Seventh House is the opposite of the First House of Self; here you blend your personality with others in order to pursue shared goals." As this quote said, the Seventh House is the House of Patnerships and also Enemies. It heavily contributes to the relationships you have. In my case, the ruler of this House is Jupiter. So I find it very interesting in how Jupiter is in Gemini. How much does the fact Mercury is both the ruler of the chart and also the ruler of the sign representing the Seventh House mean? I look forward to you once again walking this Horse to another source of water.

Please let me know if this lengthy answer works for you. It works for me, because I am still testing my knowledge, and wish to know how much I actually "know".

Lilith, a simple tip for you, if you use the Equal House system you don't need to do any calculations to equalise the Houses, they'll all be the same size.

Jupiter rules Sag on the 7th House cusp, it's in the 2nd House and in Gemini. Gemini is ruled by Mercury which is in Aries in the 12th House. There is no real link to Jupiter except thru Gemini.

OK, my next question is how does the 3rd House influence you in terms of a Gemini Ascendant?

Before I answer that question, I need you to answer one of my own. When you say "the 3rd House", are you referring to the 3rd House in the birthchart I included in this post? Or are you referring to the hypothetical birthchart I told you about earlier, the one that made use of the equal house system?

the one in the Placidus chart above, the hypothetical Equal House system chart would be one we can work on as well. Maybe you could attach that chart to your next post then we can work on both.
