Great and Grand Conjunctions

Great and Grand Conjunctions
Conjunctions are important in astrology, none more so than that of the giant planets in the outer solar system. The only kind that the ancient or medieval astrologers knew about, those of Jupiter and Saturn, have received a lot of attention, as they should. But what of the others? While conjunctions involving Jupiter and either Uranus and Neptune happen more frequently than that of Jupiter and Saturn the rest are much less common.
What is particularly interesting about them is the patterns they create if a calendar of 30 or 360 years is used. These time periods are often called months or years of the gods as one of our years is only like a day to them.
Below is given a description of each of these kind of conjunctions. For the sake of convenience those of Jupiter and Saturn shall be called a 'great conjunction.' Since Uranus is at a greater distance from the Sun the pairing of it and Jupiter will be named a 'greater conjunction.' Likewise, since Neptune is the furthest away, those between it and Jupiter can be referred to as 'greatest conjunctions.' For Saturn and Uranus the term 'grand conjunction' may be appropriate. Those between Saturn and Neptune can be called 'grander conjunctions' and for the rarest of all, the alignments of Uranus and Neptune, 'grandest conjunction.'
A calendar using 30 year 'months' will help show a number of cycles. Just as a full moon usually occurs around the same day of the month as the previous one, so do many of the conjunctions, although there are often separations of two, three or six months between some of the more interresting ones. For many reasons that may soon become apparent, an epoch centered on the winter solstice of 1999 shall be employed.
Great Conjunctions
The best conjunctions known before the discovery of new planets was that of Jupiter and Saturn. They are now called 'great conjunctions' due to their significance and rarity. They occur only about once every twenty years. The last one was on May 28, 2000 and the next shall be on December 21, 2020; right aound the time of the winter solstice.
What is fascinating about these is that they seem to almost always take place in a sign of the same element for quite a long time. Here are some examples from the recent past.

1961/02/19-00:01 295* 12' Capricorn Earth

1663/10/16-23:46 252* 58' Sagittarius Fire
1643/02/24-23:15 355* 07' Pisces Water
It seems quite obvious there are some historical paralells, from the Age of Enlightentment (Fire) to that of Revolution (Earth).
They form a trigon on the zodiac that repeats about every sixty years. This can be more easily seen on a 'calendar of the gods.'

Greater Conjunctions
The conjunctions of Jupiter and Uranus are common; about once every fourteen years. The last one was a triple that lasted from June 8, 2010 to January 4, 2011.
The interesting thing about these is that they are of the same gender for a very long time. They have been almost entirely masculine since the Renaissance until the Modern Era. Femininity will rule, however, for the foreseeable future. Here are some from the recent past.

There is about a one hundred and eighty year cycle where they fall on the same day in the calendar of the gods. That is, of course, a difference of six months, or half a year.

Greatest Conjunctions
Jupiter and Neptune conjunctions happen the most often, about once every thirteen years, the most recent being on December 21, 2009. Like the great conjunction of 2020, it fell right near the winter solstice.
Unlike the other ones they are seen in nearly the same part of the sky, only differing usually by one sign each time. The entire zodiac is represented in a short time. Here are some from the past.

Grand Conjunctions
The conjunctions that don't involve Jupiter are grand, such as that of Saturn and Uranus. These occur much less frequently, around once every forty five years, with the next being on June 28, 2032.
Like the greatest conjunctions the whole zodiac is quickly gone through, relatively speaking. Here are some from the past.

Grander Conjunctions
A conjunction of Saturn and Neptune is also uncommon, about every thirty six years, with the next one happening on February 20, 2026.
While the great conjunctions seem to stick to the same element and the greater to the same gender for long periods, the grander ones seem to have the same quality for a time. Here are some from the recent past.

Grandest Conjunctions
At least we come to the rarest of all; the conjunctions of Uranus and Neptune. Only about once in every one hundred and seventy years do they grace us with their presence. Fortunate indeed is it to happen as only around their time can there be a syzygy of all the major planets. The Voyager 2 spacecraft took advantage of the position of the planets that occurred near the triple one that lasted from February 2 to October 24 of 1993. It is no coincidence that there have been many nice planetary alignments in the last couple of decades. The next one is on January 17, 2165.
Here are some from the past.

AD 1821/05/03-10:10 272* 51'
AD 1650/06/13-12:51 255* 34'
It takes twenty one conjunctions for them to circle the zodiac. Once every three they line up with Pluto, which is good because twenty one is divisible by three. Maybe Neptune can be master of the 'septile.' But even more interesting is the trigon created once every seventh conjunction. It is very similar to that of Jupiter and Saturn but for its duration between events. It may very well be possible that the ancient Sumerians, Babylonians and others chose to have units of time of sixty years to reflect the great conjunctions. But how long is it on average between every seventh grandest conjunction? Calculations show it to be twelve hundred years. Exactly twelve hundred years. Anyone familar with Vedic astrology will instantly know the significance of that number. It is the length of a charanas, of which all the yugas are a multiple of.
I don't believe anyone has noticed this before. All sources claim there is no astronomical cycle which matches. Is this a discovery?

AD 1993/08/20-07:48 288* 48'
