New Planetoid Niku

Post by admin »

Philip Sedgwick (http://www.philipsedgwick.com) in his 'Skyscraping' segment has talked about a 'new' planetoid discovery, tentatively named: Niku.

"Last week online news sources touted the discovery of a new, unusual Kuiper Belt Object out beyond Neptune. This object is highly inclined (110 degrees) and travels in a retrograde orbit lasting 212.45 years - likely because of a collision long ago knocking it out of the Kuiper Belt Object fray. Thus, it has been given the “nickname” Niku - Chinese for rebellious.
How rebellious? Well, it does move contrary to the status quo planetary revolution pattern. It soars way above what is normally in the range of objects relative to the ecliptic. In fact, it’s so rebellious, it resists all typecasting and insists upon defying rules and regulations..."

It is apparently at 24 Libra 31 so anyone with a planet or angle (MC/IC, ASC/DESC) on this degree might like to ponder on this.
