Hello
How do we interpret what role an exalted retrograde Jupiter will play when it is retrograde in the Natal Chart?
The person whose chart I am looking at is my companion with Sc Asc as per vedic astrology and Jupiter is in Cancer/9th house. Vedic and Western charts are attached.
What results can he expect when he runs Jupiter AD or PD? He is currently running Venus MD, which has been very bumpy professionally.
Our relationship has also been put through the test of time since July this year. It concerns me a lot.

Hi parma_eshwar,
I have copied your post into the Vedic Astrology area as clearly most of what you've mentioned is relevant to that system. No doubt you'll receive a response therein.
From a Western astrology point of view, I notice that currently in his Progressed Chart, South Node/Ketu is coming to the conjunction with his Midheaven/career (in Scorpio). This suggests that the area of career and public life is difficult due to interference from the "past" in some way. Perhaps it is that issues in his past have not been dealt with and are trying to surface, resulting in his not seeing the situation as it really is but rather confusing the present with past situations.
Focusing on his inner life and his physical home may help to relieve this, perhaps even working from home, privately, where he feels 'safer' out of the eye of the public.
Also, right now, his Prog. Asc. is in the last degree of Capricorn/Business. This is a difficult degree especially as transiting Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) has been hovering over this area of some time. In 2026 his Prog. Asc. moves into Aquarius, and Pluto will again be in conjunction with this point.
Clearly he is undergoing a massive internal change in readiness for this major change and expression of himself in life. He needs understanding and patience from you whilst he is going through this, even though it may be difficult for you to do. (That is, if of course, you choose to do this).
Jupiter Retrograde (in Leo in the Western chart) suggests that he finds it hard to listen to the advice of others and always that he must keep making progress regardless even of being on the wrong path, and of changing that path when necessary, especially if others try to tell him this. He needs to find this out for himself, and he will do so, even if he does it the 'hard' way.
This next two year period is crucial in all of this, especially as he's coming to his 2nd Saturn Return...a second "maturity" period in everyone's lives.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Admin.

Re: Exalted Jup Retrograde in 9th house of Cancer
The astrological influences on career dynamics suggest that the conjunction of the South Node/Ketu with the Midheaven indicates challenges stemming from unresolved past issues. This alignment may cause confusion between past experiences and present situations, impacting the individual's perception of their career. Focusing on their inner life and working from a private space could provide a sense of safety and facilitate reflection. Additionally, with the progressed Ascendant in Capricorn and Pluto's influence, the individual is undergoing significant internal changes that will culminate in a transformation of self-expression by 2026.
Furthermore, Jupiter retrograde in Leo highlights difficulties in accepting external advice, suggesting that the individual may need to navigate their path independently, even if it involves making mistakes along the way. As they approach their second Saturn return, a period often associated with maturity and reevaluation, it is crucial for those around them to offer patience and understanding. Encouraging self-reflection and possibly seeking astrological consultation can help them address past issues and make informed decisions about their professional journey.
