Possible Job Change
Possible Job Change
Hello! I am posting my chart as well as the chart of a former coworker who I still keep in touch with and worked with remotely for about two years. He has been offered a management role for a home infusion pharmacy and would be in charge of hiring and has basically already offered me a job. I’ve been at my current job for 8 yrs in July and am in management myself currently so I’m not sure making a change would be a wise thing to do however I am curious. Anyway to know how it would work out if I did decide to take him up on the offer? Thanks!
Re: Possible Job Change
Hi Kimmyness,
Have started looking into this. but first a question: What exactly is the job he is offering ? What work does it entail ?

Re: Possible Job Change
Hi,
It is a position in the billing department of a home infusion pharmacy. I just don’t know how wise it would be to leave my current job since I’ve been there almost eight years now. Obviously pay and benefits will be a factor in the decision I make. Like I said in my first post, we worked together remotely for two years, he left the job Im at in July of last year. We get along very well even though I’ve never met this guy in person and still talk pretty much daily. What kind of boss would he make? He has a ton of pharmacy experience so I know he knows his stuff. My only issue is his tendency to have kind of an inflated ego at times, I know he’s a Leo though and that can come with the territory

Hi Kimmyness,
One more question: Is he asking you to make an immediate decision ?

Re: Possible Job Change
Hello,
No, he is only starting out at this new company. It’s just something he asked me to consider, the people on the current team aren’t as experienced.

Re: Possible Job Change
Hello!
Just looking for some opinions here, I applied for a position at this friends company not working in his department but a different department under a manager that just left the company I currently work for about 2-3 months ago. This company was founded in 2019 and the department I would be joining is new as well. I was offered the position and the pay is close to $3 more an hour HOWEVER the insurance premiums are more expensive and I would be accruing less PTO since I’d be a new employee. I currently work for the #1 health insurer in the US so obviously they have more to offer as opposed to a company founded 5 yrs ago however my former director left the company I currently work for to join this new company as well as several other employees. Someone pointed out that it could be a good opportunity to help build the department up the way we want it and correctly but I’m not sure because I’m pretty comfortable where I am. I also feel if I turn it down, I might not have the chance later. Any opinions? Should I stick with what I know or take a chance? At the end of the day, my pay may stay the same but there is the possibility of o/t which my current job avoids at all costs these days. I’ve been unhappy with my management lately and some of their decision making, my manager is impossible to reach and even though I’m her first employee and have been with her since our department was formed, she didn’t even reach out to me once after finding out we were displaced after hurricane milton, that was disappointing. Let me know your thoughts!
Thank you
