Symbolic Significance of the Comet Atlas 2020

Post by admin »

It seems that the comet, named "Atlas" is disintegrating before our very eyes. https://www.space.com/comet-atlas-disin ... wUJAJA999O

Looking at the mythology of Atlas, he was one of the Titans who rose up against the Olympian gods.
For this effrontery, Zeus/Jupiter punished him by giving him the task of holding up the heavens, thereby separating "Heaven and Earth" in order to "prevent them from resuming their primordial embrace".

"Atlas and his brother Menoetius sided with the Titans against the OLYMPIANS and when the Titans were eventually defeated many of them were confined to Tartarus ( a deep abyss used as a dungeon) including Atlas’ brother. However, Atlas had a different fate, and Zeus condemned Atlas to stand at the Western edge of Gaia (the Earth) and hold the heavens on his shoulders to prevent the two from resuming their primordial embrace. He was Atlas Telamon, or ‘enduring Atlas,’ a name embodying his daily struggle and punishment".  https://greekgodsandgoddesses.net/gods/atlas/

Given that Pluto and Jupiter have recently had their first conjunction (in the Virgo/health/work Decanate of Capricorn), and in the midst of this current COVID-19 pandemic when this has forced much of the world into 'lock-down' and self-isolation (with which Saturn has also been involved - another of the Titans); and when we've all been forced to turn inwards and face our demons, along comes Atlas which then begins to disintegrate, and so, suddenly the chasm is breached, and the barrier between 'upper/lower', and  "inner/outer", conscious and unconscious realms, is being shattered.

Bearing in mind that "Heaven" (Uranus - "Father Sky") and "Earth" (Gaia - "Mother Earth") are key here too, it's hardly necessary to point out how far out into our Universe we are venturing, and how many boundaries there we are shattering with our discoveries using Uranian technology.  And now Saturn in Aquarius (retrogrades back into Capricorn in July) gives us a taste of his challenge to (his father) - Uranus, which planet is now in Gaia's realm (Taurus).

In other words, this surely seems to be in consonance with all we're being forced to face and deal with at this powerful and significant time ?

Other comments about this:  " As I write these words, Comet ATLAS, which a month ago looked like it might evolve into the first really bright naked-eye comet in a decade, is now falling apart. It has fragmented into several pieces, quickly dispersing and not leaving behind enough material to produce any kind of significant display.

"Soon after this comet was discovered near the end of 2019, it brightened at an almost furious pace. That combined with the fact that it was traveling in the same orbit as the "Great Comet" which was discovered on Feb. 5 1843, and "brightened greatly on Feb. 27 1843 just one degree away from the Sun" has suggested to various astronomers that Comet Atlas  might be a fragment of that spectacular comet, and that by the spring it might evolve into a beautiful celestial showpiece that could possibly excite the world as well as inject some new interest and exposure to the science of astronomy."   https://www.space.com/comet-swan-arrive ... gsHdT6VFFU

As this Great Comet appeared in 1843, Saturn was in the 23rd Degree of Capricorn , and square Pluto in the 21st Deg. of Aries.  Atlas appeared whilst Pluto was in that same 22nd Degree of Capricorn and Saturn was in mid-Capricorn;  and is now "crumbling" whilst Saturn is in Aquarius (and which will retrograde back into Capricorn to join Pluto there again).

It's really worth going through the major events of 1843 (many in Wiki of course:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1843 ).
