Hi,
I'm a Software Engineer, and I wish to develop an Open Source Software on Astrology.
(For more information on Open Source Software, visit this URL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source)
I know there are already a lot of windows applications available out there, but one more OSS won't hurt. Moreover, the open-for-all support and discussions will ensure that the best course of action will follow and the end result will be the most evolved software. For this, I need help from some of the professional astrologers among you, who can guide me with the domain knowledge.
I already have a set of libraries in the form of Windows .DLL to get the positions of planets and lunar nodes at a given GMT date and geo-coordinates (lat/lon). It can also be configured in various modes like geocentric/heliocentric calculations, siderial/tropical positions (among siderial various ayanamshas like lahiri, krishnamurty, custom, etc..), house-divisions (placidus, etc.), solar/lunar eclipses (their time and duration between two given dates at a given place). However, this is just my raw-material. You have to tell me what to make of this! Questions like what should consist of user-input fields, prediction-logic, results format, test-data, etc. will be part of our analysis & design phase.
If any of you wish to help and collaborate, then please reply. We can discuss more on this.

Re: Astrologer's Help Required
Welcome prahlad, but I’m not even vaguely ‘tech’ re this. I use ‘Solar Fire’ http://alabe.com/ which gives all ‘Western’ House Systems, plus solar/lunar eclipses, but if you’re looking for ayanamshas etc. maybe something like: http://www.indianastrologysoftware.com/ ... pAodE062nQ might help,
tho’ I doubt that this will solve your problem as you’ve probably already been there, done that !
I’m sorry I can’t help. Perhaps someone else here may ?
Best and Good Luck with your Venture.
