Synastry aspects: applying

Here is something that I have recently been interested in.

The question is on applying and separating aspects between two charts in synastry.

Say you have Venus moving faster in one chart than the Sun in the other chart. Venus applies to make an aspect which is if you progress both charts, "perfected".

I think that the applying aspects in synastry are more important for synastry but I don't really have anything concrete to back it up.

What observations do people have of separating or applying aspects between two charts?

Hi Night Sky! Can only theorise about this (but will look further).

With regard to a planet applying the obvious suggestion would be that the energies of the combination of those planets are growing and perhaps therefore, need to be either nurtured (if positive/easy), or watched closely as they develop (if 'negative/difficult'). This would also depend upon the speed of the planets involved...

For eg. if Mercury in one chart is in say, 2 deg of Libra, applying to a trine to Jupiter in another chart, in say, 6 deg of Aquarius,(suggesting an 'expansion of knowledge' or an increase in the areas of communication through the relationship), then the applying planet (Mercury) is moving quickly towards the trine to Jupiter, which suggests that the experience of this 'relationship' in those areas is of excitement and possibility, and has the capacity to grow 'easily'. If Mercury however, Is in 9 deg of Libra (in trine to Jupiter in 6 deg. of Aq) then the separation suggests that the sense of intellectual growth is already right there at the start, and as the aspect is 'leaving' it will need extra care to keep it at the same level. (Trines of course, tend not to not to be 'worked at'.)

If Mercury in one chart is applying to a square to Jupiter in the chart of another, then the sense of 'expansion and growth' will grow very fast (as in 'instant'), and may be 'too much too soon', resulting in over-expectation, exaggeration, or even as one seeing the other as 'over the top'...etc.etc.etc. even perhaps while being impressed by each other's views. This would inevitably need 'work' to keep it going. If Mercury is separating from the Jupiter square, it may be experienced as a 'Yeah, Great...Byeee!' (One seeing the other as overwhelming, or as unduly 'nit-picking, which could of course occur even in an applying square).

There is also inevitably the relevance of the state of each person's planet: which Sign, House, Aspects etc. as well as other aspects between the charts.

This is a VERY BRIEF view, and as I said, only theorising ...so far. Am quite excited about the possibilities, so thanks for the query. (Would be good if you have some charts to post for this...also, am looking at this in 'Composite' charts.)
