I've read the posts which have been made in this forum regarding the navagraha strotram and how many times they should be chanted to achieve desired effects.
I wish to start the strotram for Mars, as Mars in my chart is very ill placed and has a panchanga dosha.
It was specified that the mantra be done during the waxing phase of the moon during the vaara of the planet I want to appease.
That would mean I would start my chanting on Tuesday. Noting this, will the 14th of September 2021 be suitable for me?

Also look at the Hora for the day. On Tuesday, Mars hora is at the Sun rise.
Better start in Mars hora. If not start in Horas, which are friendly planets for Mars.

Will the tithi have an effect? On 14th it'll be shukla astami, ruled by Rahu. Considering that the ashtamis are generally inauspicious should I postpone it further?

Chandra bala and tara bala are also important.
You may please check them too.
Generally, it is important to have an auscpicious tithi. Ashtami etc are not considered generally good.

Re: Questions About Starting A Mantra
Thank you. I have preponed the date to the 7th of September considering everything else.
The tithi will be Shukla Prathma (Sun), the Vaara Tuesday. I will begin in Mar's hora.
