Re: Finally Statistics Says Something Positive About Astrology
Hello Admin! Probably the pundit was making a more sophisticated point that got edited out-- though as it stands the statement is merely puzzling. There is certainly the issue of multiple comparisons , which on the face of it gives a strong argument. I'll need some plots, so the full response is att...

Re: Astrology: Answers to Common Objections
A Return to Objection 2 I recently had occasion to explain the second objection: "Why can the sex of the native not be found from the birth chart?" to a colleague, and a further point occurred to me. Scientists and mathematicians use equations with no reference to the physical phenomena th...

Finally Statistics Says Something Positive About Astrology
For the attention of the Forum. By now you all know that statistics can be used to say something useful about Astrology. But, this has always been on statistics' own terms- addressing only a single issue, with all possible data, and with stern caveats about the conclusions. What if, however, we rela...

Re: Let Us Ignore the Dwarf Planets!
Hi EnochandtheBears,
You're looking at the "Raw" column. If you want to see how powerful one Planet is compared to another, you must use the "Comparative" column.
Regards,
Mersenne.

Trines
For the kind consideration of the Forum: Has anyone noticed, or come across a text regarding, any skewness in the Trine Aspects? I have an odd result in several datasets that suggests the 120° Trine peaks at 125° and the 240° correspondingly early at 235°. I'm inclined to discard the result as anoma...

Let Us Ignore the Dwarf Planets!
Should Astrologers use the Transneptunians (TNs, the Planets beyond Neptune), or “dwarf planets” at all? The recent report of yet another such body (temporarily to be called “Farout”) has caused me to reflect on the ever-increasing problem of the Transneptunians. I suggest that the chart can be cons...

Re: what is the main concept of astrology?
Hello All, Perhaps there are as many main concepts as there are astrologers. But for me, "as above, so below". Whatever happens at a given time and place can be described by the causally unrelated phenomena in the universe around it. The description itself is poetic, not prosaic. Whatever ...

Re: New light on the New Planets
For the attention of the Forum, The attached is a posting on relative Planet strength through the datasets. It is an attempt to decide how much "weight" should be given to the Transneptunian Planets, and if I have interpreted the results correctly, I must maintain that these are much weake...
